AFC Leopards, Kariobangi Sharks, and Sony Sugar are through to the round of 16 of the GoTV Shield Tournament after edging past Nairobi Stima, Kenpoly FC and Ulinzi Stars respectively in matches played today, July 8, 2017

Kariobangi Sharks went into their match against Kenpoly FC on the back of a 3-2 triumph over Bungoma Superstars in the round of 64. Sharks coach William Muluya fielded a second-string side, and they were up to task, going through with a 2-0 scoreline. Sanneh Ebrimah and Stephen Odhiambo scored in the 21st and 70th minute respectively. The match was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos

The second match at the same venue pitting Modern Coast Rangers against Premier League side Nakumatt FC was short of goals, ending in a stalemate at full time. It, however, went 8-7 in favor of Nakumatt on post-match penalties

AFC Leopards also dumped out high-flying National Super League side Nairobi Stima, the match ending 2-0. New signing Aziz Okaka and Joshua Mawira were on the scoresheet for Leopards. Kakamega Homeboyz is also through at the expense of Zetech University courtesy of a decisive strike by Francis Nambute in the 63rd minute

Amos Asembeka netted from the spot early in the first half to see the Millers through. Sofapaka also brushed aside Western Stima 1-0 at the Thika sub-county Stadium. Hillary Echesa scored Sofapaka’s lone goal in the 17th minute

Thika-based Butterfly FC are also through on a 2-0 scoreline over Mwatate United after the latter failed to turn up for the match

At the Mbaraki Sports Club, Division 1 Zone B side Eldoret Youth edged out home team Young Divers 2-0. Two goals in the first half by Kevin Mwanzi in the 8th minute and Kevin Cheti in the 26th minute were enough to see the Eldoret side through

Tusker will also be up against Palos at the Kinoru Stadium in Meru. There will also be a double-header pitting NSL sides at Camp Toyoyo.
