Wajir based Al-Hayat remarkably come from three goals down to trounce Ifpro from Garissa 9-8 in post-match penalties in the final of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Youth Tournament.

The match was played at the fully packed Garissa University Grounds on Sunday January 7, 2018.

Ifpro raced into a 3-0 first-half lead courtesy of a brace by Isaack Abdiwali and Feisal Yussuf; this despite being numerically disadvantaged after Ahmed Derrow was sent off in the 18th minute.

Al-Hayat would, however, give a spirited fight in the second half, scoring three goals to force the match into penalties. Al-Hayat won the shootout 9-8.

The win saw Al-Hayat take home a ksh 200, 000 bounty from tournament sponsors Safaricom, with the Ifpro getting ksh 100, 000.

The tournament now heads to Coast Region this weekend, with Western and Central next in line. It will culminate with Nairobi before the national finals set to be held in the capital.

The overall winner will pocket Sh1Million and earn a fully paid trip to London where they will meet and train with the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom ambassador, Victor Wanyama at his Tottenham Hotspur
