Football Kenya Federation’s National Center of Excellence, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, received a vote of confidence from Belgian side Anderlecht FC’s Assistant Sporting Director Johan Plancke.

Plancke, who is on a scouting mission in Africa, visited the Center of Excellence in Thome, Nairobi, and later graced the team’s training session at the Wadi Degla Club.

“I’m impressed with what I have seen here. At Anderlecht, we have invested a lot in the Youth, and it has paid dividends over time,” said Mr. Plancke.

“I have been traveling across Africa and this visit to Kenya is encouraging. I am looking forward to long term partnerships that can help us bring through young players,” he added.

The Center of excellence plays hosts to the National U15 team, who have been put on a homeschooling program. The players undertake such subjects as Mathematics, Biology, Geography, French and Spanish, online, with one on one sessions with their tutor via skype also in their program.

The homeschooling system’s flexibility also allows them to hold daily training sessions at the Wadi Degla Sports Club in Runda.
