The Kenya Women’s team Harambee Starlets had it tough against tournament favorites Nigeria, losing 0-4 in their final Group B match of the Africa Women Cup of Nations(AWCON), staged at the Omnisport stadium in Limbe on Saturday 26 November.
Starlets went behind twice early on in the match courtesy of a Ngozi Okobi thunderbolt on the fourth minute and a Faith Ikidi goal three minutes later. The Starlets came into the match and gave a good account of themselves before Arsenal starlet Asisat Oshoala and second half substitute Desire Oparanozie scored two more goals to stamp Nigeria’s authority as tournament favorites.
It has been a good outing for the starlets who were making their maiden appearance in the continental showpiece. The starlets will jet back on Monday 28th November
