Football Kenya Federation has moved to credit three points in Shabana FC’s favor after Bondo United was adjudged to have fielded an ineligible player in their match played on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Gusii Stadium.

Frank Otieno, using FKF License number 001286, was deemed ineligible to play for Bondo United, having not been registered for the 2018 season.

“In accordance with Article 3.5 of the Rules governing Kenyan Football on Ineligible Players; A club which fields a suspended or ineligible player will forfeit all matches in which the player was illegally fielded,”

“We wish to inform you that your club has forfeited the said match and the same has been awarded to Shabana FC on a 2-0 score, 3 points basis,” read part of the letter sent to Bondo United.

“Please note that further cases of fielding of ineligible players by your team shall be liable to such further penalty and/or a fine as shall be determined by the Leagues & Competitions Committee,” continued the statement, signed by FKF Competitions Manager Frank Ogolla.

Bondo United has since dropped to ninth following the decision, with 25 points from 21 matches. Shabana meanwhile, is second with 49 points, six shy of league leaders Eldoret Youth.
