Gor Mahia, for the second time in the space of 10 days, edged out Tanzanian side Yanga in a CAF Confederations Cup Group D match played on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The match ended 3-2.

George Odhiambo, Jacques Tuyisenge, and Harun Shakava were on target for the guests, while Yanga’s consolation goals were netted by Raphael Kaseke and David Loth.

The win follows K’ogallo’s 4-0 thrashing of the Tanzanian side in the first leg tie played on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani under floodlights courtesy of a strike by Jacques Tuyisenge, coupled with an own goal by Haji Mwinyi and a brace by Ephrem Guikan.

Gor Mahia consequently moves top of Group D with eight points from four matches pending USM Alger’s match at home against Rayon Sports. USM had amassed seven points from three matches ahead of their match against the Rwandese side.
