The National U17 football team will on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, face Ethiopia in her second Group A match of the CECAFA U17 Championships in Burundi.

The match, set to be played at the Gitega Stadium starting 4.30 pm, follows Kenya’s 4-0 win over the hosts, in the first match played on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Forward Isaiah Abwal scored a second-half brace to add onto first-half strikes by Christopher Raila and Nicholas Omondi, consequently handing Kenya an early Group A lead.

FKF Deputy Technical Director Michael Amenga, who heads the team’s technical bench, is confident that the juniors will get a positive result against Ethiopia.

“We gave a good account of ourselves in our first match (against Burundi),” said coach Amenga.

“The players are both physically and psychologically in the right shape, and I believe we can get a positive result against Ethiopia,” he added.
