Football Kenya Federation, in partnership with Safaricom, has today, Friday, January 19, 2018, held a one-day coaching seminar ahead of the Coast Region Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Youth Tournament final matches.

The seminar targeted coaches whose teams took part in the tournament, reserved for youth under the age of 20. Also in attendance were coaches who graced the basic/ advanced coaching course offered by FKF late last year.

“Our partnership with Safaricom is not only aimed at developing youth and women football but also creating capacity for our grassroots coaches,” said FKF Technical Director Andreas Spier.

“It is for this reason that we have purposed to hold coaching seminars in all Safaricom Chapa Dimba Regional finals,” added Spier.

The coaches were taken through the relevance of the tournament being reserved for the youth. They were also educated on new techniques such as warm-up drills.

“This seminar has given me an opportunity to learn new techniques that I will apply for my upcoming assignments,” said Christine Nanjala, Shimanzi Boys FC coach.
