Bishop Njenga (girls), Lugari Blue Saints (boys) return for yet another Western regional final after inter sub-branch games within North Western branch played at the weekend.

The two will be joined by Bukembe Friends and Brenda Girls both from Bungoma sub branch in the finals that will be held at the Bukhungu Stadium in mid-January 2019.

Two more boys’ and girls’ teams will confirm their place in the regional finals when Western Branch hosts its inter sub branch games in two venues; Ebusakami Primary in Luanda and Boma grounds in Mumias this coming weekend.

How they qualified

Lugari Blue Saints beat Mt. Elgon sub branch champions Chemoge 1-0 in a tension packed clash that survived various stoppages at the Amtala Stadium on Sunday.

The previous day they had retained their Lugari sub branch crown after dismissing Nuclear 1-0 at Panpaper.

Bishop Njenga had set the tone at the same venue earlier after seeing off Mt. Elgon sub branch champions Chelebei 2-0.

At the Bukembe Secondary School, Brenda Girls hit Mt. Elgon’s Kodedema 5-0.

Bukembe Friends, meanwhile, romped to their first ever regional final with a 7-0 dispatch of Teso’s Red Star Kamuriai.

Upcoming

At the weekend, teams from Busia sub branch have been paired with their Vihiga counterparts as those from Kakamega will go at it with teams from Butere-Mumias sub branch.

Ibinzo Girls, Wakongwe Youth from Kakamega will face off with Red Commandoes and The Saints, respectively, at Boma grounds Mumias on Saturday for lone slots to the regional final.

King’andole Queens, Busia Wolves from Busia will in the meantime be up against Lusengeli Secondary and Ebbu Stars at the Ebusakami Primary School on Sunday.
