Chapa Dimba: Eight teams qualify for Western Regional finals

    Eight teams have qualified for the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Western Region finals set to be held on the weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December at the Bukhungu Stadium.

    North Western Sub Branch

    Boys

    In Western Sub Branch Kapswokony qualified for the finals after beating Chelebei Boys 4-2 on post-match penalties after a barren draw in regulation time and narrowly edging out Ongarian 3-2 to storm into the final four.

    Lugari Blue Saints joined Kapswokony in the final four by edging out ACK Sirende 2-0 in the final match. Earlier on they had beaten 11 Stars 1-0, MSA by the same goal margin, while MSA versus 11 Stars ended 2-0 in favour of the latter.

    Girls

    Chelebei Secondary qualified from the Teso / Mt Elgon region after comfortably beating Kodema 2-0 in the final played at Malaba Stadium on Sunday 5th November. In the preliminary matches, Kibuk beat Kongit 2-0, Kodema versus Kikapel ended 2-0, Chelebei edged out Kongit 3-1 and Kibuk 2-0 respectively before playing to a 2-2 draw with Kongit again.

    In Bungoma / Lugari region, Kavaywa Queens qualified for the regional finals after beating Nangili in the final.

    In the preliminary matches, Classic Ladies lost 0-2 to Bishop Njega, Bishop Njenga and Kavaywa played to a barren draw while Kavaywa humbled Classic Ladies 5-0. Nangili narrowly edged out Mabuye by a solitary goal while Nangili beat Muyungi 2-0. Muyugi and Mabuye played to a barren draw.

    Western Sub Branch

    Boys

    In the Kakamega / Vihiga region, Mukumu Boys beat Kima FC 4-3 on post-match penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time to qualify for the regional final.

    In the preliminaries, Kima beat Chavakali 5-4 on post-match penalties after a barren draw while Mukumu Boys easily swept past Emulakha FC 3-0.

    In the Butere / Mumias / Busia region, Busia Wolves qualified for the regional final after beating Emanami Muslims by a solitary goal in the sub branch final. Busia Wolves had thrashed Bulemia 6-0 in the only preliminary match played on Saturday 4th November.

    Girls

    In Kakamega / Vihiga region, Shinyalu qualified by beating Lusengeli Galaxy 2-1 in the final played at the Chavakali High School on Sunday 5th November.

    In the preliminary matches, Lusengeli Galaxy thrashed Khwiliba 4-0, Khwiliba responded by beating Vihiga Starlets 3-0, Lusengeli Galaxy eased past Vihiga Starlets 4-1 while Shinyalu thrashed Namatala 5-0.

    In the Butere / Mumias / Busia region, Kingadole qualified for the regional final after easing past Ibinda in the sub branch final 3-0.

    They (Kingadole) had started brightly by spanking Bwamami 4-0 in the preliminaries. Ibinda beat Itete 3-0; Lioness edged out Weco Starlets 2-0 in the other preliminary matches.
