White Rhinos and Al Ahly (Boys), as well as Nakuru West Queens and Bomet Queens (girls), became the latest teams to qualify for Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Rift Valley regional finals set for the Eldoret Showground on 23-24 March 2019.

The four came through at the close of Central Rift and South Rift FKF Branch finals held on 23-24 February 2019.

They join Solidarity Boys and Kitale Queens who qualified earlier from North West Rift branch.

On Saturday, at the Kpchimchim Secondary school grounds, Bomet Queens made it for their first regional finals after topping a four-team pool at the close of round robin games.

Bomet Queens were unbeaten on the day after seeing off Tulwet and Ainamoi Starlets by identical 2-0 wins before knocking out Fanaka Girls from Narok 5-0 in their final game.

At the Kericho Green stadium on Sunday, White Rhinos hit home team Kaptoboito Galarc 4-0 to book their title to Eldoret. The two booked the Sunday showdown after winning their respective pool games at the same venue on Saturday.

The Kericho games attracted girls’ and boys’ champions from Narok, Kericho, Bureti, Transmara and Bomet sub-branches.

Central Rift

At the Afraha Stadium, it was second time lucky for Kajiado’s Al Ahly who clinched the boys title after seeing off home team ASEC 4-3 in post-match penalties. The two had drawn 0-0 at the end of regulation time.

In the last edition, Al Ahly made it to the final only to be seen off in post-match penalties by Nakuru AllStars. They had rallied from 3-1 down to tie the regular game 3-3.
