A two-day selection exercise, aimed at assessing 57 players earmarked for inclusion in the national U23 football team, kicked off on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

The second session will be held on Sunday at the MISC Kasarani after which an 18-man squad, set to hit residential camp on November 8, 2018, will be named.

Foreign-based players are also expected to link up with the team in camp.

The Emerging Stars are slated to face Mauritius over two legs between November 12, and November 20, 2018, in the first round of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

The final tournament, set to be held in Egypt in November 2019, will act as a qualifier to the 2020 Olympics.
