National U23 team jets out ahead of Uzbekistan friendlies

The National U23 Football team, the Emerging Stars, has today, Tuesday, March 20, 2018, jetted out to Tashkent, Uzbekistan ahead of a two-legged friendly against Uzbekistan.

Under the tutelage of Coaches Francis Kimanzi and John Kamau, the team is largely made up of players drawn from Kenyan Premier League clubs.

The first match is set to be played on Friday, March 23, with the return match set to be played on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Kenya has enrolled to take part in the 2020 Olympics. The matches against Uzbekistan will thus be the first of a series of friendlies the team will take part in, in preparation for the Olympic Qualifiers.
