Football Kenya Federation(FKF) is set to receive support from the Government in the wake of SportPesa’s withdrawal of sponsorship.

The pronouncement was made by FKF President Nick Mwendwa during a Media Briefing on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at FKF House, Goal Project.

“We have agreed with the government that they will give us support,” said Mwendwa.

“We have written to them to help us cover all that was lost (after SportPesa’s withdrawal),” he added, further noting that talks are in progress to get SportPesa back in the game.

“In the meantime, we have also been talking to SportPesa to come back and support the game,”

The cancelation of sponsorship by official betting partner SportPesa stands to have a huge impact on FKF’s developmental agenda as the Ksh 120 Million received annually from the betting firm had been instrumental in rolling out of key developmental activities.
