Football Kenya Federation is set to conduct Physical Endurance Tests (PET) for  referees ahead of the incoming 2018 season.

The PET, the first of four this year, is set to be held at the MISC Kasarani for seven days starting Monday, January 22, 2018, to Sunday, January 28, 2018.

“FIFA and CAF, through FKF, intends to undertake the PET’s quarterly so as to regularly take our referees through modifications to the laws of the game,” said Referees Manager Sylvester Kirwa.

The event shall feature theory sessions in class, group discussions, and fieldwork. Among topics of discussion, as disclosed by the Referees Manager, shall be referees positioning, the handball rule, tactical fouls, penalty area incidents, the offside rule and match reporting, among others.

“We are also aiming at integrating technique and practice. We need to have referees who are not only physically fit but are also up to speed with the laws of the game,” he added.

The exercise will feature KPL, NSL, and Division One Referees and Match Commissioners altogether for the sake of continuity and uniformity in promotion and demotion
