Football Kenya Federation, in partnership with Katambe Enterprises and the Kenya Wildlife Service, has lined up a Beach Soccer Tournament in Watamu this month.

The tourney, set to be held between November 28, and November 30, 2019, is aimed at fighting substance abuse as well as keeping the beach clean, this as the tournament organizers target to keep the youth active during the festive season.

“Sports has the power to change the world. It speaks to youth in a language they understand,” said Katambe Enterprises CEO Andrew Ngugi while citing Nelson Mandela’s famous quote.

“We have lined up this five-aside tournament to keep our youths active, fight drug abuse as well as promote cleanliness on our beaches,” he added.

The tournament will be held at the Watamu Beach Grounds off Jacaranda Road, Watamu.

Six teams have so far confirmed participation in the 24-team tournament, whose winner gets a chance to visit Italy for a Serie A match.
