FKF SportPesa Shield defending champions AFC Leopards signed off the 2018 edition with a 5-4 win in post-match penalties over Ulinzi Stars in the third place play-off staged on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani. The match had ended 1-1 in normal time.

Ulinzi Stars were the first to score; Bernard Ongoma tucking in a 73rd minute spot kick against his former teammates after Ingwe defender Isaac Oduro was adjudged to have fouled his Ulinzi Stars marker in the box.

Eugene Mukangula would however restore parity in the 84th minute with a low left footed drive to send the match into penalties.

Ezekiel Owade would be the hero of the match, saving two spotckicks, consequently handing AFC Leopards a third place finish, which comes along with a kshs 750,000 bounty. Ulinzi Stars took home kshs 500,000.

Up next is the final pitting Kariobangi Sharks against Sofapaka, whose winner will take home kshs 2 Million as well as a chance to represent the country in the 2019 CAF Confederations Cup.
