Kariobangi Sharks kicked off their 2018 FKF SportPesa Shield campaign with a 6-0 win over Nanyuki Youth in a match played on Friday, June 1, 2018, at the Nanyuki Stadium.

National U20 team forward Sidney Lokale scored two goals, to add onto a brace by Hillary Otieno and a goal apiece by Paul Kamau and Eric Kipkirui, in the 3 pm encounter.

The match was one of five matches played on Friday, with 17 more lined up for Saturday, June 2, 2018, across different venues.

Experienced Friendzone FC also gained passage to the round of 32, courtesy of a 3-1 win over FKF Division One League side Naivas FC in post-match penalties.

The match, played at Camp Toyoyo, had ended 1-1 in regulation time. Jack Otieno had put Friendzone FC in the front foot before Lucky Kenga restored parity with seven minutes left on the clock.
