The friendly is a buildup to the upcoming MIC Football Tournament in Spain in April, where the Junior Stars will be up against Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Ajax, Manchester United, and Manchester City, among other top European sides, in the U16 category.

An Elite League, set to kick off in March this year, is also in the pipeline. Football Kenya Federation will run an U13 and U15 league made up of top academies across the country, as well as the national U15 team.

The team is currently put up at the Federation’s national center of excellence in Thome, Nairobi, on a homeschooling program that also has them take part in daily training sessions at the Wadi Degla club in Runda.
