Gor Mahia brushed aside Tanzanian side Yanga FC 4-0 in a CAF Confederations Cup match played on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani, under floodlights.

The Kenyan Premier League defending champions were dominant for the better part of the match, limiting the guests to bit part chances in front of goal.

Jaques Tuyisenge put Gor Mahia on the front foot in the 22nd minute before Ephrem Guikan doubled the advantage at the stroke of halftime. Haji Mwinyi scored an own goal to make matters 3-0 for Gor in the 65th minute when he failed to deal with a Francis Kahata delivery that was intended for Charles Momanyi. Guikan would complete his brace five minutes from time off a swift counter-attack by the hosts.

The win consequently sees Kógallo cement second place in Group B with five points, two shy of leaders USM Alger and three clear of third-placed Rayon Sports.
