Gor Mahia kicked off their quest for a place in the semifinals of the CAF Confederations Cup on a sour note, losing 2-0 to Moroccan side RS Berkane in the first leg match played on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani.

A 24th minute own goal by Francis Kahata, coupled with a 60th minute strike by Bakr El Helali, saw the guests get a firm grip on the tie much to Gor Mahia’s chagrin.

K’ogallo will thus have all to play for in the second leg, set to be played on Sunday, April 14, 2019, in Morocco, with the winner set to advance to the continental championship’s semifinals.
