The Quarterfinal matches of the 2017 edition of the GOtv Shield tournament will take center stage this weekend, Saturday 19, August and Sunday 20, August 2017 at the Nyayo National Stadium. Defending Champions Tusker, 2013 Champions AFC Leopards and 2016 second runners up Kariobangi Sharks will all be in action

Eldoret Youth

Division One Zone B side Eldoret Youth, perceived underdogs in the tournament, will be up against Kariobangi Sharks in the first match of the weekend, scheduled for 1 pm on Saturday. Eldoret Youth went past Nakuru All Stars, Young Divers and Savannah Cement in the run up to the Quarterfinal. Their opponents Kariobangi Sharks toppled favorites Sofapaka in the Round of 16 after earlier wins over Bungoma Superstars and Kenpoly in the Round of 64 and Round of 32 respectively

The second match of the day will pit Bandari against Sony Sugar. It will be the third time the two sides will face off in the space of a month. Captain Noah Abich scored at the death to see Bandari past Nakumatt in the Round of 16. The Dockers had earlier edged out Gor Mahia FC in the Round of 32 via post-match penalties. Sony Sugar will be looking to avenge a 0-1 loss to Bandari in their SportPesa Premier League first leg fixture staged at the Awendo Green Stadium. The two sides played out a barren draw in the reverse tie at the Mbaraki Sports Club

On Sunday, defending champions Tusker will face National Super League table toppers Vihiga United. Vihiga toppled Kakamega Homeboyz in the Round of 16 via post-match penalties, having earlier felled Ushuru in the same fashion. They will be up against a formidable Tusker side that has shown interest in retaining the trophy with wins over Butterfly, Palos, and SS Assad

AFC Leopards

2013 Champions AFC Leopards will then take on Wazito FC in the second match of the day at 3.15 pm. Ingwe has had a good run in the tournament, edging out Dero FC, Nairobi Stima and Bidco United in the run up to the Quarterfinal. A positive performance in the tournament could atone for their poor show in the SportPesa Premier League where Ingwe is ranked 13th. Wazito, third on the National Super League log, will be looking forward to a positive result that could be a motivating factor in their promotion bid

CAF Confederation Cup

A kshs 2 Million prize and a chance to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup is at stake for the Champion. The runners-up, second runners-up, and fourth placed team will take home kshs 1 Million, 750, 000 and 500,000 respectively
