Division One: Green Commandoes, Kangemi All Stars in line for promotion

The FKF National Division One League is in its homestretch with Kangemi All-Stars and Green Commandoes perched at the summit of the Zone A and Zone B leagues respectively

Kangemi All Stars tops Zone A with 52 points from 22 matches, having won 16 matches and shared the spoils in four. The league leaders have lost only twice, to Mwatate United on both occasions.

The Kabete based side only needs three points from their last two matches against Liberty Sports Academy and Ligi Ndogo to be assured of promotion

Second on the log in  Zone A is Coast Stima, with 51 points, a point less than Kangemi. The Powermen have however played a match more. Coast Stima has won 15 matches, drawn six times and lost twice, and is in line for a playoff slot having opened a nine-point gap with third-placed Green Berets

Zone B

In Zone B, Kakamega High Scool’s Green Commandoes is at the summit with 49 points, seven more than second-placed Timsales. The latter has however played two matches less and still has a chance of grabbing the automatic promotion slot.

Green Commandoes have won 15 matches, scoring a total of 55 goals, the highest goal tally in the league so far. The students have drawn four times and lost only thrice.

Hot on second-placed Timsales’ heels is Kitale based Transfoc, ranked third with 42 points, similar to Timsales. Transfoc, however, has an inferior goal difference and a game in hand.

Eldoret Youth, who had a good show in the 2017 GOtv Shield, bowing out to Kariobangi Sharks in the Quarterfinals, is fourth with 39 points from 21 matches. The Eldoret side will face off with league leaders Green Commandoes in a match slated for Sunday, November 12, 2017, in Kakamega

Results since Round 1


The top teams from both zones will gain automatic qualification to the second tier FKF National Super League.

Runners-up will then square it out in a one leg playoff to determine the third team that qualifies for the National Super League.

The bottom team from each zone will be relegated to the Division two league. The venue for the promotion playoff will be determined in due course
