The National Women football team, Harambee Starlets, is set to kick off her campaign for a second appearance at the Africa Women Cup of Nations with a two-legged qualifier against Uganda.
The first leg is set to be played on Wednesday, April 4, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with the return match slated for April 8, 2018, in Uganda.
Starlets hit camp on March 5, 2018, ahead of the qualifier. The team went on to play an International Friendly match against Zambia in Kitwe, winning 3-0.

Coach David Ouma has asserted his contentment with the team’s preparations ahead of the match, further expressing confidence that the team will get a positive result.
“The friendly match (against Zambia) gave us an opportunity to gauge our strengths ahead of the Uganda Qualifier. I am happy that my players gave a good account of themselves, and I am confident we will get a positive result against Uganda,” said coach Ouma.

Starlets made a maiden appearance at the 2016 showpiece in Cameroon, bowing out in the first round at the hands of Nigeria, Ghana, and Mali. The two-legged tie against Uganda will determine who meets Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round.
