COSAFA: Two wins in two as Harambee Starlets stroll past Mauritius

    The National Women Football Team, Harambee Starlets, whitewashed Mauritius 11-0 in their second Group B match of the 2017 COSAFA Women Championships played today, September 19, 2017, at the Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

    Mwanahalima Adam got the Starlets on the front foot in the 10th minute with a half-volley from the right. Neddy Atieno would then score two quick goals in the 22nd and 27th minute before Lucy Mukhwana made it four three minutes later. Neddy made it two hattricks in two games at the stroke of half-time, Starlets heading to the breather 5-0 up

    Starlets picked up from where they left in the second half, Lucy Mukhwana scoring her second of the match two minutes after the break. Neddy Atieno grabbed her fourth of the match and seventh of the tournament in the 50th minute. Halftime substitute Cheris Avilia also got one of her own in the 55th minute after a swift interchange of passes with Lucy Mukhwana. Dorcas Shikobe then scored the ninth from long range, before Mwanahalima Adam scored her second of the match after breezing through the physically endowed Mauritius defense. Mauritius would score a late own goal, the final nail in their own coffin
