Harambee Stars to be hosted for a luncheon in Machakos

    The Football Kenya Federation in partnership with leading betting firm SportPesa will tomorrow hold a luncheon for Harambee Stars at the Gelian Hotel, Machakos ahead of the team’s departure to Sierra Leone on Thursday, June 8, 2017

    Stars are set to travel to Sierra Leone for the opening fixture of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers scheduled to be played at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown, Sierra Leone on June 10, 2017, beginning 1630 hrs local time

    The Luncheon, to be attended by FKF President Nick Mwendwa and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri, will also see Harambee Stars First Coach Stanley Okumbi disclose his final squad for the June 10, fixture

    The team is set to depart for Sierra Leone on Thursday, June 8, at 9.50 am and is scheduled to arrive in Freetown, Sierra Leone at 3.55 pm

    Stars, who are currently camping in Machakos have been boosted by the arrival of nine foreign-based players; Brian Mandela, Victor Wanyama, Erick Ouma and Joseph Okumu. Others are Zesco United trio of David Owino, Jesse Were, and Anthony Akumu, Ayub Timbe and Sweden-based Eric Johanna

    Johanna Omollo and Abud Omar have been ruled out of the qualifier due to injuries sustained while on club assignments. Michael Olunga, and David Ochieng are expected to link up with the team tomorrow morning
