Football Kenya Federation has confirmed participation of the Harambee Stars in two friendly matches against Mauritania and Morocco on August 31 and September 4, 2017, in Morocco

“Whereas AFCON 2019 Qualifiers and the FIFA Rankings remain crucial to us going forward, CHAN 2018, which will be hosted in Kenya, is equally important and we are happy that we have managed to secure the two friendlies,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi

The friendly match will exclusively feature local based players in preparation for CHAN 2018. Following the development, 11 more local based players have been called up, with the team set to report to camp on Sunday, August, 20 at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies

Meanwhile, Kenya is also set to face Mozambique in a FIFA International friendly match scheduled for September 2, 2017, in Maputo

“We now have three games which are equally important and as such we have decided to call up more players ahead of the fixtures,” said Stars coach Stanley Okumbi
