Harambee Stars stepped up preparations for their upcoming Africa Nations Championships return match with yet another morning session on Friday, August 2, 2019.
The team kept a clean sheet in the first leg played in Dar es Salaam, and there is now all to play for in the second leg scheduled for Sunday at the MISC Kasarani.
“We have been working on building offensive linkup. We will try to win it without a shootout, and I am confident we can,” said coach Sébastien Migné, who called up Tusker FC forward Boniface Muchiri and his Kakamega Homeboyz counterpart Kevin Omondi to add firepower to his forward line.
The coach also called out on fans to rally behind the team as they look to make history in the continent’s second-tier national competition.
“We need support from the fans. I am hoping that the stadium will be full. We need that support even when we are not in the best shape,” said Coach Migné.
The match is set to kick off at 4 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani.
Tickets will go on sale on match day at Kenya Cinema, Opposite Safari Park Hotel, Ngomongo Police Station and at the MISC Kasarani Stadium’s Gate 12.
The winner on aggregate will face Sudan in the second and final qualifying round, while the final tournament, reserved for players actively featuring in their respective national competitions, has been scheduled for January 2020, in Cameroon.
Should the match end in a barren draw, it will head straight to penalties to determine who goes through to the next round.
