Harambee Stars safely landed in Tanzania on Friday, July 26, 2019, ahead of their Africa Nations Championships qualifier slated for Sunday.

This as the team aims to make history: Kenya has never made it to the continent’s second-tier national competition, which is exclusively reserved for players actively featuring in their respective national competitions.

The team is set to have a feel of the field of the match venue on Saturday evening ahead of tomorrow’s match and for coach Sébastien Migné, it’s all systems go.

“We have players who don’t have as much experience at this level. Of course, it will be difficult, but it is always an opportunity to give them a chance to show us what they can do,” said coach Migné as the team held their final session before their departure to Tanzania.

“Nothing is impossible in football. Our team spirit will be very crucial and I am confident we’ll get a positive result,” added the Harambee Stars tactician.

Kenya will be looking forward to a positive result in Dar es Salaam, which could set the stage for an entertaining second leg, set to be played on August 4, 2019.

The winner on aggregate will face off with Sudan in the second and final qualifying round, with the final tournament set to be held in Cameroon in January 2020.
