Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Independent Disciplinary Appeals Committee (IDAC) has handed Posta Rangers a life line in the GOTV shield tournament by ruling that the club is reinstated in the competition.
The move by IDAC follows Posta Rangers appeal against being disqualified from the competition for fielding an ineligible player in their round of 64 matche against TimSales FC.
In a ruling sent to FKF CEO Robert Muthomi, IDAC has directed the CEO to find a less punitive punishment for Posta Rangers and ordered for the club’s reinstatement in the GOTV Shield tournament.
Posta Rangers have since been reinstated to the GOTV Shield tournament but fined Ksh 100,000. They will play their round of 32 match against Ushuru on Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Nyayo National stadium, with the winner of the match taking on Agro Chemicals in the round of 16, next week.
