The National Football team, Harambee Stars, will be up against Mozambique in a FIFA International friendly match tomorrow, September 2, 2017, at the Estadio do Zimpeto in Maputo Mozambique. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1900 hrs local time

Mozambique will be out to avenge a 1-0 loss to Stars in a friendly match played on November 12, 2016, at the Safaricom Stadium in Kasarani courtesy of a goal by Eric Johanna early in the first half

Harambee Stars, meanwhile, is on the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss to Sierra Leone in the first match of the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers in Sierra Leone. A win would be perfect atonement, as the team prepares for the second match against Ghana in March 2018

Prior to the friendly match last year, the two sides met twice in a two legged World Cup Qualifier in 2009. Kenya won the first leg 2-1 in Nairobi in June but would lose the second leg 1-0 in Maputo, consequently bowing out on the away goal rule

CHAN 2018

Meanwhile, the “Team Kenya” CHAN 2018 team is in Morocco for two friendly matches in preparation for the Africa Nations Championships(CHAN) to be held in Kenya in January next year. In the first match played yesterday, August 31, 2017, Kenya played out a 1-1 draw with Mauritania. The second match against the hosts, Morocco, will be played on Monday, September 4, 2017
