Football Kenya Federation has confirmed demotion of Muhoroni Youth to the third tier Division One League following the club’s failure to honor its first three matches of the season against KCB, Kenya Police and Nairobi City Stars.

The former KPL side was notified of its relegation in a letter signed by the Football Kenya Federation General Secretary/CEO Robert Muthomi, citing rule 2.4 of the Rules of Kenyan Football which states:

“Failure to play matches: A club which fails to honor three league matches in the same season without providing written explanations acceptable to the committee will be suspended for the rest of the season, will be relegated to a lower league for the next season and may face other disciplinary action”

The letter states in part, “We therefore hereby write to you decreeing that having failed to play three matches in contravention of the above-stated rule, Muhoroni Youth has been suspended from the FKF National Super League and relegated to the Division One League for the 2019 season.”
