New dawn as NSL goes live on Bamba Sports

History was made on Sunday 12 March 2017 as two National Super League (NSL) games went live for the first time ever on Free to Air channel Bamba Sports.

The live broadcast officially activated a three-year deal signed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Bamba Sports, as owned by the Radio Africa Group on Wednesday 8 February 2017.

The first game to go on air was a MOSCA – St. Joseph’s game at the Camp Toyoyo from 2 pm, a game the visitors comfortably won 4-1 with goals from Salim Akatha (12), Wilson Andati (20, 38) and a penalty from Dominic Gwaro (45). Elisha Ochieno (57) scored for MOSCA.

The second live game from the same venue that kicked off at 4.15 pm had Wazito register a second straight season win over relegated Nairobi City Stars.

Pistone Mutamba Vunyoli, Austine Ochieng, and Joe Waithira scored for Wazito before City Stars scored their consolation. Wazito led 1-0 at half time.

Two further games will be live on Bamba Sports during round three on Sunday 19 March from the Camp Toyoyo; Kibera Black Stars vs Police (2 pm) and Wazito vs Palos (4.15pm).

In other games played last Sunday Modern Coast from Mombasa forced Palos to a 2-2 draw at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

Two penalties from Alfred Maningi’s (38, 69) ensured Rangers got a point. Kelvin Wesonga (45) and Morven Otinya (59) scored for Palos.

In earlier games on Saturday, Ushuru first game in the NSL was a 1-0 win over AP at Camp Toyoyo. Lwambo Bebeto (48) scored the winner.

FC Talanta was beaten 5-2 by Eldoret’s GFE 105 at the same venue. Wakoli Zeka’s four goals (12, 38, 56, 60) and Elvis Okusi (81) led to the win. George Bill (58) and Kelvin Ndungu (63) scored for Talanta.

Newcomers Isibania forced Bidco to a 1-1 draw in Thika. Edwin Walumoli (12) scored for Bidco as Alex Sunga (48) equalized for Isibania. In Nakuru Police and Nakuru AllStars registered a 1-1 draw.
