Ushuru opened up a four-point gap between them and second-placed Western Stima following a 3-2 win over the latter in an FKF National Super League match played on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Ruaraka Grounds.

The match, which saw both sides miss from the spot, lived up to the billing, with four of the five goals having been scored from set pieces.

Upon resumption, the hosts resorted to sitting back but were undone by a freekick by Kevin Okoth in the 85th minute.

Just as the match seemed to be ending in a share of the spoils, Ushuru won a freekick just outside the box. Oscar Mbugua calmly slotted it in much to the chagrin of the guests’ technical bench.

In another match played at the same venue, Kangemi All-Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Nakuru All-Stars, with both goals having been scored from the spot.
