Ushuru made up for a lukewarm start to their 2018 FKF National Super League campaign with a leap into the top three following a 1-0 win over Kibera Black Stars.

Benson Amianda scored the lone goal in the match played at Camp Toyoyo.

The win sees Ushuru rise to third with 25 points, nine shy of runaway leaders Western Stima, who have played a match more than the taxmen.

At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Western Stima opened up a nine-point gap at the summit following a 4-0 win over Green Commandos.

A goal apiece by Fredrick Nyarombo and James Ogada, coupled with a brace by Kevin Okoth, saw the Powermen take their point tally to 34 from 15 matches.

In other matches, KCB lost 3-2 to Nairobi City Stars while Isibania’s poor run of form persisted with a 2-4 loss at home to Kangemi All-stars.
