Nzoia Sugar was on Saturday 10 December 2016 officially recognized and awarded as the Second tier National Super League Champions.
This was at an event held at their Sudi Stadium by the Football Kenya Federation soon after their final game of the season where they lost 1-0 to visiting Kariobangi Sharks.
FKF CEO Robert Muthomi led the handover in a function attended by Western National Executive Committee (NEC) Tony Kweya, Nzoia Sugar chair Ngissa Mokua, among others.
Other than a trophy to take home, each player was feted with an individual winners medal.
Nzoia Sugar booked their place in the Kenyan Premier League for 2017 after beating Palos 2-1 at the same venue during a match 33 game on Sunday 6 November after accumulating an unassailable lead.
The Bungoma based club ended the season with 92 points after the 38-game season, nine ahead of second-placed Kariobangi Sharks.
