Nyanza South and Nyanza North Branches held their Chapa Dimba na Safaricom preliminary matches over the weekend to bring to an end action in the region.

In Nyanza South, Kisii SA Ladies and Victoria Strikers booked their tickets to the regional finals. Victoria Strikers beat Nyamira sub branch champions Springs Nyamira 1-0 to progress as Kisii SA Ladies dethroned the last edition’s champions Omobera Ladies 2-0 for a place in Kisumu.

Victoria Strikers take over from Ombek Red Devils who failed to defend their title by giving away their semifinal tie to Gucha sub-branch winner Christ Warriors due to lateness.

In Nyanza North, both Manyatta boys and girls proved too strong for the oppositionas they progressed to the regional final set to be held at the Moi stadium,Kisumu on 9, 10 February, 2019.

The Manyatta girls’ and boys’ teams beat Bondo’s Nyamira Girls and Siaya’s South East by identical 1-0 score to progress.

The latest winners join Homabay’s NCEOD (girls) and Kuria’s Nyamaharaga who qualified for the regional finals the weekend before as Nyanza West branch wrapped its games.
