Bernard Ondiek stepped off the bench to net a late winner as Gor Mahia secured a 1-0 advantage over Nyasa Big Bullets in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round match.

The hosts had the better share of possession for the better part of the match but resolute defending by the Malawian side allowed them only a handful of chances in front of goal.

In the dying moments of the match, however, Gor Mahia’s attack would pay off when Humphrey Mieno set Bernard Ondiek up for the winner.

The 2018 SportPesa Premier League Champions will thus hope to finish off the job in the second leg slated for December 5, 2018, in Blantyre, Malawi.
