The National U20 Women team went down 5-1 to Ghana in a FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifier staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on November 19, 2017.

The guests raced into an early 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes, Anokye Oliuia sending in a low drive from the left flank before Princella Adubea caught Starlets goalkeeper Lilian Awuor off-guard from a freekick.

Adubea then scored her second of the day at the stroke of halftime, capitalizing on a goalkeeping mishap by Lilian Awuor, who had come off her line.

Ghana would prove to be the better side in the second half, with Abambila Ernestina scoring the fourth goal for the guests before Princella Adubea completed her hattrick with five minutes left on the clock.

Rachel Muema scored a late consolation for Kenya in stoppage time, but it was not enough to change matters in the hosts’ favor.

In the run up to the first round tie against Ghana, Kenya had breezed past Botswana before edging out Ethiopia 4-3 on aggregate
