WPL Review: Thika Queens, Vihiga Queens win respective WPL Leagues

Thika Queens are the FKF Women Premier League Zone A winners after a convincing 7-1 win over Mombasa Olympic in their final match of the season played at the Thika sub-county Stadium on Sunday, November 26, 2017.

The Thika based side has amassed 35 points from 11 wins, two draws and a single loss, suffered against Makolanders on November 18, 2017. The latter is second on the log with 30 points.

Spedag is third on the log, with 20 points, but could be displaced by fourth-placed Mombasa Olympic, who play Kayole Starlets on Monday 27, 2017 in their final match of the season

In Zone B, Vihiga Queens emerged champions after dispatching rivals Oserian 0-2 in the latter’s own backyard on November 19, 2017.

WPL Playoff

The win saw Vihiga Queens open a six-point gap between them and eventual runners-up Oserian, who amassed 27 points from 12 matches. Wadadia is third with 23 points while Eldoret Falcons completes the top four with 14 points from 12 matches.

Vihiga Queens is set to take on Thika Queens in a WPL playoff to determine the ultimate champion. The playoff has been slated for December 3, 2017, at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds
