The Kenya National U17 football team dispatched Djibouti 9-0 in their second match of the Africa U17 Cup of Nations CECAFA Region Qualifying tournament played on Friday, August 17, 2018, at the Azam Sports Complex in Chamazi, Tanzania.

This was the biggest scoreline of the tourney this far, taking Kenya’s goal tally to 13 goals, having won 4-0 against South Sudan in their first match of the tourney, played on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.

Kenya is thus top of the five team Group B with six points, similar to second placed Ethiopia, who however have an inferior goal difference. Uganda is third with three points from two matches.

Up next for Kenya is a match against Uganda on Sunday, August 19, before winding up their Group B matches against Ethiopia on Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

Kenya will seek to make a maiden appearance at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations slated for May 2019 in Tanzania. The winner of the tournament will thus gain qualification to the junior continental showpiece next year alongside Tanzania, who qualify automatically by virtue of being the hosts.
