Harambee Stars Coach Sébastien Migné has backed captain Victor Wanyama to give a good account of himself when his parent club Tottenham Hotspurs comes up against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final.

This as Wanyama’s compatriots, who are currently in the Kenya National team’s pre-AFCON camp in France, also rallied behind the captains as he seeks to create history in Madrid.

“You are about to realize a dream every footballer would like to accomplish. We are fully behind you and we wish you all the best,” said Belgium based midfielder Johanna Omollo.

“Kenya is behind you, Captain. Here in camp, we will be watching the final, and our hope is that you will get a positive result,” said defender Abud Omar.

Coach Sébastien Migné, meanwhile, acknowledged the magnitude of the match, noting that it is a big one for Kenya.

“This match is big for Kenya. All the fans will be very proud to see a Kenyan in the final and I hope that Victor will do the country proud,” said coach Migné.

“I like buying books. During the FIFA Congress, I bought two, one on Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspurs coach) and one on Klopp (Liverpool Coach). It is interesting that they are both in the final, and I am looking forward to it,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Harambee Stars held a morning recovery session on Saturday after arriving in France on Friday. The team will have yet another training session on Saturday evening, as more foreign-based players check into camp.
