Wadadia run over Baringo Starlets as Vihiga Queens trounce Mathare United Women

Defending Champions Vihiga Queens moved to within touching distance of league leaders Thika Queens with a win over Mathare United Women in an FKF Women Premier League match played on Saturday, March 19, 2018.

A hattrick by Terry Engesha, coupled with a goal apiece by Phoebe Oketch and Corazon Aquino, saw Vihiga Queens edge Mathare 5-0, their fourth consecutive win this season.

At the Mumias Sports Complex, Wadadia ran over Baringo Starlets 14-0. Wadadia consequently rises to second on the log with 13 points, two less than league leaders Thika Queens, and a point more than third-placed Vihiga Queens. The latter has however played two games less.

Eldoret Falcons also got their second win of the season, over Palos Ladies in Kisumu, while Kayole Starlets pulled an upset, edging out Oserian 1-2 in their own backyard.

Gaspo Youth held Trans Nzoia Falcons to a 0-0 draw while deposed champions Thika Queens maintained their top ranking with a 2-1 win over Makolanders at the Thika Stadium.

Women Division One League

Five matches were played in the second tier Women Division One League, with Nyamira Starlets emerging the biggest winners (7-0 over Chrisc St Elizabeth). MTG United also carried on their fine run with a 1-0 win at home against Sunderland Samba.

On Sunday, Kibera Girls Soccer Academy held Soccer Sisters to a 0-0 draw while Solasa Stima Queens lost 0-1 to Bunyore Starlets. Mukuru Talent edged out Joy Love FC 3-0
