Two wins in two for KCB, backed by Nairobi Stima’s dip in form, has seen the former get back in contention for a place in the 2019 top tier league.
The Bankers braved a late surge by Kenya Police in their last match played on Saturday to win 2-1. Kennedy Owino and Shami Mwinyi were on target, with Peter Wanyonyi’s 85th-minute goal serving as a mere consolation.
KCB is consequently second, seven points shy of league leaders Western Stima albeit with a game in hand.
Nairobi Stima, on the other hand, dropped points for the second time in a row, consequently dropping to third with 63 points from 31 matches.
Stima was held to a 0-0 draw by Bidco United on the back of a 2-1 loss to GFE 105.
Western Stima, meanwhile, is firmly in control following a 1-0 win over Nairobi City Stars. John Oruko scored the lone goal to guide the Powermen to a sixth in a row, which sees them lead the log with 67 points from 31 matches.
