Kenyan representatives in the CAF Continental Championships, Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks, will grace the first round of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.

This is following wins on aggregate over Nyasa Big Bullets (Malawi) and Arta Solar7 (Djibouti) in the second legs played on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

Gor Mahia, who carried a 1-0 advantage to Blantyre, was handed a 55th-minute scare when Chiukepo Msowoya scored a goal for the hosts to level the tie on aggregate.

The match ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts at the end of regulation time, but its K’ogallo who, however, had the last laugh as they went on to win the match in post-match penalties, consequently booking a slot in the first round.

Sharks, in the meantime, had an easy way past Arta Solar7, winning the reverse tie 0-3, courtesy of a goal apiece by George Abege, Vincent Wasambo, and Duke Abuya. The CAF Championships debutants had won the first leg 6-1.

Following their wins on aggregate, Sharks will face off with Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko, while Gor will be up against either of Nigeria’s Lobi Stars or Cameroon’s UMS de Loum.

The first leg ties will be played between December 14, and December 15, 2018.
