The FIFA/FKF Pilot Project has been activated in Kisumu with a week-long coaching course that was officially rolled out on Monday, December 17, 2018.

This is a continuation of a series of coaching courses whose first phase kicked off in the Coast Region and was later also activated in Nairobi.

The Kisumu edition has drawn participants from Nyanza Region as well as Western region and parts of Rift Valley.

“FIFA is on a mission to increase participation of women in football,” said FKF Deputy President Doris Petra who graced the opening ceremony.

“It is for this reason that we are investing in young women through coaching education, and we hope that they will in turn influence even more women at the grassroots,” she added.

As the Kisumu edition got underway, 40 participants who honored the call in Nairobi were gaining certification as curtains came down on the course.

A referees training is also ongoing in Meru while a leadership course for elected branch women representatives is in the pipeline
