Defending champions Bishop Njenga from Lugari and Kakamega’s Ibinzo will tomorrow battle for the Western region Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom girls’ title.
Violet Wanyonyi’s lone goal in the 48th minute was all Bishop Njenga needed to yet again contest the final. Ibinzo Girls, on their part, made it to the final after beating Busia’s King’andole 2 – 1. Phelister Nabwire hit a brace for Ibinzo with Ann Mwalubi netting King’andole’s consolation.
In the boys’ category, The Saints from Butere-Mumias will face Lugari Blue Saints in the final after thrashing Vihiga’s Ebbu Stars 4-0. Lugari were 2-0 winners over Friends Bukembe from Bungoma.
The winners in tomorrow’s finals will each receive a cash reward of KES 200,000 and will also proceed to the national finals set to be played in June 2019, at the Kinoru Stadium in Meru.
Overall competition winners will take home KES 1 Million. Talented players, both boys and girls, will also be scouted and will be drafted in an all-star team that will enjoy a training camp in Spain.
After Kakamega, the competition moves to Moi Stadium in Kisumu for the Nyanza regional finals next month.
