It’s all systems go for Kenya’s Africa U23 Cup of Nations cum Olympics Qualifier second leg match against Sudan, slated for Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

Coming on the back of a 2-0 loss in the first leg played on Wednesday last week in Khartoum, the Emerging Stars will need to score three unanswered goals to secure passage to the third qualification round.

The team has been in residential camp in Nairobi and coach Francis Kimanzi is confident that they can turn around the match.

“If we play better than we did in the first leg, I am confident that we can get a positive result. Getting the first goal will be tough, but if we can get it early enough, I know we will be in control of the match,” said coach Francis Kimanzi.

Meanwhile, the team has been boosted by the inclusion of two players, Pistone Mutamba and James Kinyanjui, in the team. The two will stand in for John Avire and Jafari Owiti, who have been ruled out after picking up knocks in the first leg.

The match will be played on Tuesday March 26, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani. Football Kenya Federation has also waived gate charges for the 4 pm kickoff.
