Kibera Girls Soccer Academy picked up their second win of the season when they edged out Nyuki Starlets 3-0 in a WPL match played on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Bukhungu Stadium.
Lucy Achieng, Zainab Khamis and Lydia Oyugo were on target for the league debutants, whose two wins have both come away from home.
Vihiga Queens, meanwhile, maintained their perfect record as they picked up six points this weekend.
Queens benefited from a walk over on Saturday after Kayole Starlet failed to honor their match that had been scheduled for the Mumias Sports Complex. They would go on to beat Soccer Queens 6-1 on Sunday at the same venue.
Makolanders’ match against Gaspo Youth, in the meantime, had to be abandoned after a swarm of bees forced a long delay that the center referee deemed untenable. The match, at the time of abandonment in the second half, was still tied at 0-0.
