Jericho All-Stars will face South B United from Starehe in the Nairobi region final of the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom youth tournament.

Jericho All-Stars beat Kasarani’s Bright Star Academy 2-1 while Starehe’s South B United overcame Uweza FC from Langata beating them 2-0 to qualify for the finals.

In the girls’ category, Carolina for Kibera qualified for finals after a 4-3 win in post-match penalties over Dagoretti Mixed School after the match ended in a goalless draw in normal time.

Acakoro Ladies from Kasarani were 4-1 winners against County Queens from Makadara. Carolina for Kibera FC will, therefore, meet Acakoro Ladies in the girls’ finals tomorrow.

“We have had a good game though the ground was muddy and slippery. We are ready for the finals tomorrow and we hope to win. It is our hope to also see more of our players selected to join the All-Star team that will go to Spain for the training,” said – Fredrick Odhiambo, Coach Carolina FC.

The winners in tomorrow’s finals will each receive a cash reward of KES 200,000 and proceed to the national finals set for June 2019 at Kinoru Stadium, Meru. The runners up will also pocket KES 100,000 each among other individual prizes.

“We are happy to have made it to the next stage. The journey has been tough but have made it. We are looking forward to tomorrow and hope we emerge winners. Our dream has always been to eventually win the national finals and we hope it comes true,” said Enock Wanyama, Player South B United.

At the grand finale, the winning boys’ and girls’ teams will each walk away with KES 1 million shillings in prize money among other individualized prizes.

This year, an All-star team has been selected from the 8 regional finals to attend a training camp in Spain during which they will play against local youth sides.
